Bee Creative is the brainchild of Belinda Burgiss, a registered Primary School teacher, with a passion for art, drama and music, and a love of working with children to encourage them to experiment and create using a variety of materials and their imagination. After working at Camp USA in 2007 as the Arts and Crafts Coordinator, it has been Belinda’s dream to set up a programme in NZ that will bring art and creative learning to children outside the formal schooling. Bee Creative is the realization of that dream.
"Our society has a range of sports clubs aimed at developing young sports people and although NZ has many great artists, there are not a lot of opportunities given to children to be creative if it is not a part of their home environment. I was never any good at sports but I loved to paint and sculpt with clay. I want to give kids a place where it is OK to make a bit of a mess and to get a bit messy as long as they are having fun."
